Kindle Fires issues

I have 6 Kindle Fires that I have QR codes linked to this website for read aloud books.  However, when my students scan the codes it pulls the site up but the videos wont play. Any suggestions?  It says the internet connection is lost of the format is not supported.

After trying it with the ?clean=1, I was able to see the play button; however, I got an error that stated the media could not be loaded either because the servers or network failed or because the format is not supported.

Hi Victoria,

Thanks for reporting that issue.

If you try to watch a YouTube video using the browser on the Kindle Fires, does it play?

I am having the same issue with my five Kindle Fires. I have QR links to read alouds; however, I can not get any of the videos to work on my Kindles or my cell phone. My cell is a Galaxy Note 5.

Hi Victoria,

What happens if you append "?clean=1" to the SafeShare URLs?

For example:

https://safeshare.tv/x/ss56933b0d58638

becomes:

https://safeshare.tv/x/ss56933b0d58638?clean=1

Does it make it work on Kindles and your cellphone? If not, do you happen to know if your school network has any special web filters applied?

Hi Alexe,

Kindle Fire devices are quite tricky for us as they work in a very different way.

If you try to watch the videos with another device (iPads, iPhones, Android phones, computers, etc.) are the videos playable?
