Problem with Hide Buttons feature

The Hide All Buttons feature is not seeming to work.  When the safe share is generated and you play the video there is a direct link back to youtube below the video?  I loved using this tool to keep my students from getting to youtube so easily :-(  Can this be fixed? Thank you!

Thank you so much!  That worked beautifully :-)

That's just perfect :-)

Please spread the word to other teachers that use SafeShare!

I just noticed that your response before added that this is just temporary? Did you mean the extra steps are temporary?  Thank you,

s

Yes, the extra steps are temporary as we're planning to introduce some quite neat features very soon (which will automatically include this fix) :-)

Would you like a sneak peek?

Awesome! I would love a sneak peak!

Alright!

So, this is something that we've been working on for quite a while. It is still a work in progress so I'm unable to show you the whole thing, but it'll be a major improvement over current SafeShare, especially when it comes to saving previously created SafeViews and sharing them.

Thoughts? :-)

It looks great!! So there would be a login required in order to access your saved links?  Would this still be free to educators? I hope so!  Thank you so much for sharing!

Hi Lisa,

We are very sorry, but unfortunately we had to change a few things due to YouTube.

However there's an easy fix for this (which unfortunately has to be done manually). If you append "?clean=1" to the end of a SafeShare.TV URL, it will work.

For example:

https://safeshare.tv/x/ss580b9b63db925

becomes:

https://safeshare.tv/x/ss580b9b63db925?clean=1

What it does is that it replaces the YouTube player by a clean one (no ads, no related videos, no YouTube logo, just the video).

Can you please give that a try in one of your SafeViews and let me know?

P.S.: THIS IS JUST TEMPORARY.

Best Regards,

Diogo Alves @ SafeShare.TV
